On March 8, 2018, Professor Teruyuki Nakato and Mitsuru Kitamura of Kyushu Institute of Technology visit our university, and gave two wonderful reports to the teachers and students of School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering. The reports were emceed by Prof. Jimin Xie, about one hundred faculties and students attended the report.
Prof. Teruyuki Nakato’s report entitled “Nanosheet Liquid Crystals: Structured Colloids Constructed by Inorganic 2D Particles”. In this report, he introduced the synthesis, characterization and properties of colloidal liquid crystals, and also its applications in inorganic fields. Prof. Mitsuru Kitamura’s report entitled “Azidoimidazolinium Salts: Safe and Efficient Diazo-transfer Reagents and Unique Azido-donors”. He mainly introduced the way prepared various alkyl/aryl azides which directly obtained from their corresponding primary amines in high yields through diazotization approach. After the report, the two professors and attendees had a deep discussion and attendees benefited a lot from the report.
Prof. Teruyuki Nakato and Mitsuru Kitamura both worked in Kyushu Institute of Technology, they have published more than 80 and 100 scientific papers in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., J. Phys. Chem. B and Chem. Commun.,J. Org. Chem.,Eur. J. Org. Chem. and so on respectively.
